Dear Members,

 

I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year.

 

Ongoing activities;

 

Speech Therapy continues on the first Tuesday of the month at 11:30 via zoom. Please let me know if you would be interested in taking part.

 

PD Warrior is run on Tuesday mornings 10.30 by the Hobbs Centre at the South Wonston Pavilion. Also at the Hobbs Centre there is a neuro active exercise class on Friday morning.

Physiotherapy in your own home. There will a cost to you and a subsidy from the branch. Please call me for details


Winchester Sports & Leisure Park at Bar End, Winchester is offering free membership for those with Parkinson’s under the Everyone Active scheme. This includes the Pinder hydrotherapy pool, swimming, gym and classes to help with long term health conditions. For more information, please contact Sarah Wratten at sarahwratten@hotmail.com

RLM Fitness is an independent boxing for fitness gym based at Hiltingbury Road, Chandlers Ford, SO53 5SS. They offer PD fitness non-contact sessions of one hour at 10:15 on Thursdays. Call 07787 428 956 or email nikimcphail@hotmail.com for details of how to book in, or answer any other questions.

Andover Mind is having a Carers’ coffee morning on the third Wednesday of the month 10:30 to noon at the Dower House, Springvale Road Winchester SO23 7lD enquires@andovermind.org.uk or call 01264 332297.

 

The Petersfield Parkinson's Cafe at the Taro Centre, Petersfield, GU31 4EX is open on the last Wednesday of every month at 2.30pm. Carers’ Lunch continues at “The Queen”, Kingsgate Street, Winchester,

SO23 9PG on the third Thursday of the month at 12.30. Please let me know if you would like to come.

 

Branch Meetings: will continue as usual on the fourth Tuesday of the month in Tubbs Hall, Kings Worthy SO23 7PJ at 2pm.

February 27th A speaker from Andover Mind will give a talk. We will also be holding our Annual AGM at this meeting.

March 26th there will be a talk and demonstration by the Hearing Dogs for deaf people association. Judith Baker will attend with Pixie, her hearing dog.

 

Further meetings will be announced in due course.

 

A date for a trip to Down House in August will be confirmed.

 

If anyone is interested in a trip on Wetwheels which we will organise for the summer, please let me know if you are interested. We will try and order better weather this year! More at https://wetwheelsfoundation.org/

 

There is a coffee morning hosted by Rick Stein 25th April between 9am and 11am this is to promote the Branch and hopefully raise some money.

If anyone can make it, there will be free coffee and cake!

 

 Our Car Boot Sale collection at the Cattle Market car park is on 10th March.

 

Finally, I am sad to announce the death of Richard Baker who passed away in December.
